Biography

Angela obtained her PhD from the Australian National University, during which she explored models of emergent gravity in superfluids. After an EPSRC fellowship studying quantum turbulence at Newcastle University, UK, and a postdoctoral position in the Quantum Systems Unit at the Okinawa Institute of Science and Technology Graduate University (OIST) in Japan, concentrating on multi-component Bose-Einstein condensates, Angela has returned to Australia as a research fellow in the Atomlaser and quantum sensors group. 

Research interests

  • Non-equilibrium studies of superfluidity, vortex chaos and quantum turbulence
  • Multi-component condensates and Josephson junction physics
  • Spin-orbit coupling and exotic states of matter
