Biography
Lyle is an experimental physicist with a passion for technology and design. He obtained his PhD in 2016 under the supervision of Prof. Daniel Shaddock, a pioneer in the field of precision laser metrology and the CEO of Liquid Instruments.
Lyle specialises at the nexus of precision laser metrology and real-time digital signal processing implemented using field-programmable gate-arrays (FPGAs), a rare combination of skills that allows him to provide considerable value across a wide range of research activities and collaborations. He is an expert in precision laser interferometry, optical phased arrays, coherent light detection and ranging, laser communications, digitally enhanced interferometry and weak-light phase detection.
