Departmental Seminar

Plasma technology: Assisting the energy transition

Associate Professor Cormac Corr
Materials Physics, RSPhys, ANU

Plasma technology, with its wide range of applications, offers promising solutions to some of the most pressing challenges in the energy transition. By leveraging the unique properties of plasma—an ionized gas consisting of electrons, ions, and neutral particles – plasma technology can address aspects of waste management, carbon capture, hydrogen production, industrial decarbonization, renewable energy integration, and environmental remediation. In this seminar, I will provide an overview of some past/present and future projects within our research group to provide insight into the versatility of plasma technology in navigating an energy transition.
