Black Holes and Wormholes: Concepts and Misconceptions

What are those exotic entities in the universe called black holes and wormholes? They are the predictions of Einsteins General Theory of Relativity but are still wraped in mystery.

In this lecture, the concepts behind black holes and wormholes will be explained and some of the misconceptions surrounding them dissolved.

Dr Peter J Riggs is a physicist and a philosopher of science at The Australian National University. He is a leading researcher on the nature of time and the foundations of physics. Dr Riggs' books include: Quantum Causality (Springer Academic, 2009) and Whys and Ways of Science (Melbourne University Press, 1992).
