Congratulations

The US Department of Energy Office of Science has recognized the importance of work published earlier this year in Physical Review Letters with ANU Nuclear Physics PhD student Timothy Gray (supervised by Andrew Stuchbery) as first author [1]. A Highlight has been published on the DoE office of Science webpage. Link - https://www.energy.gov/science/np/articles/novel-measurement-finds-collective-motion-and-deformation-atomic-nuclei

The experiment performed at the Holifield Radioactive Ion Beam Facility, Oak Ridge National Laboratory, shows how collective liquid-drop-like excitations begin to emerge in atomic nuclei from the underlying motion of individual protons and neutrons.
