Call for judges: ANU Student Research Conference 2020

The ANU Student Research Conference is an annual event which centres around the presentation of high achieving research by ANU undergraduate (including Honours) and Masters students. The winners and runners-up in each of four presentation categories receive prizes of $500 and $300 respectively, as judged by ANU academics. There will also be a variety of panel discussions, workshops and keynote speeches held to suit all attendees across a range of academic disciplines. A finalised program of student presenters and events is forthcoming.

The Conference will run in the second week of the teaching break (Wednesday 16th – Friday 18th September 2020) via Zoom. We’ve organised a busy three days of workshops, speakers and panels alongside student presentations– you can keep up to date with our program via our Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/ANUStudentResearchConference

We are currently calling for Conference judges. We have received an unprecedented number of student submissions, and warmly invite you to consider being a judge for this year’s Conference!

Each block of student presentations is one hour long throughout the three-day conference, so the minimum time commitment is just one hour (please see the EOI form linked below for information on dates & times). Each student presentation block requires two ANU academic judges. Judging is completed via an easy online tick-box form with provided criteria. An SRC team member will be with you in the Zoom room to manage participants and the audience, as well as provide you with any support or assistance you may need throughout. Each presentation is based on ANU HD coursework and an abstract peer reviewed by ANU academics, so the calibre of student presentations is always very high. The stakes are high, and your evaluation matters! There is $3,200 worth of prize money for winning students across four categories, so your judging is critical. In previous years, just one or a few points have separated winners from runners-up. You will receive a small token of thanks from the Conference organisers for your contributions to the Conference.
