Information for all PhD and supervisors can be found in this section. We will be updating this link continuously with FAQs, the communications strategy, key contact people and support strategies.

Aim

Updates

A reminder to all HDR supervisors to please complete Supervisor Registration. For RSPhys the registration rate is around 27%.

Registration is required by 31 December 2020, for those who wish to continue to supervise HDR students [note that staff who do not currently supervise HDR students are not required to register, although we welcome them doing so; and that staff who currently supervise but elect not to register will be able to continue supervising their current students, but not any new ones];

Registration is via either:

Information about the HDR Supervision Framework, supporting resources, and related activities (eg workshops and panels) is at the HDR Supervision Development webpages. The most recent material on the HDR Supervision Portal addresses how supervisors can help support HDR students’ mental health; that’s also the topic of our next workshop on 21 July. Other recent resources include recordings of HASS and STEM best-practice panel discussions.

Our team is in contact with Prof Peter Kanowski to arrange a face-to-face Supervisor Registration workshop and we will advise of the workshop date as soon as possible.
