Aim

We can use this time to be productive - work on manuscript drafts, thesis chapters, read things in-depth or learn something new.  Please stay in touch with your colleagues and your supervisor, and most importantly be positive and plan for the future.

Updates

In partnership with Technical University of Munich (TUM), we secured some funding through the Erasmus+ mobility program to support travel of ANU staff to TUM. We have funding to support two visits - each visit needs to be for at least 5 days at TUM, excluding travel. The visits need to be for either ‘teaching’ or ‘training’ at TUM.

According to TUM, ‘teaching’ visits require the participant to teach at least 8 hours per week and the remainder of the time can be used for collaborative research activities. However, during ‘training’ visits, participants are not allowed to do research and typical engagement under this category would be workshops/seminars, job shadowing, observation periods, professional development courses or specific competence-building events.

The funding for ‘teaching’ and ‘training’ visits is similar - participant gets 1.500 € travel support and 160 € per day as individual support for a 5-day stay at TUM and for 2 travel days. It adds up to 2.620 € which is the maximum funding available to support each visit.

The visits need to be conducted by 31 July 2021. If any staff are interested in visiting TUM next year (or later this year, if viable) and would like to be considered for this mobility funding, please complete an EoI form and return to Jay Poria (jay.poria@anu.edu.au) by 03 July 2020. The Colleges will then coordinate a selection process with ANU.
