meriSTEM Volunteering Hour

The meriSTEM team would like to share a huge thank you to the 37 ANU staff and students who volunteered their time on Wednesday evening (21 August 2019). Over one hour, 95 transcripts associated with the videos in meriSTEM’s Year 11 and 12 Physics course were completed. This effort, combined with the 27 volunteers who assisted at our first volunteering hour in June, means that all videos for Semester 2 content have transcripts to support student accessibility and engagement. Several secondary teachers using meriSTEM’s free resources have already requested their appreciation be passed on to the volunteers and wider ANU community for their support.

The photo is of the great bunch of volunteers involved with Wednesday’s event. There are a range of physics videos and worked solutions for activity sheets to be created, so if you would like to become part of meriSTEM’s volunteer community please email contact.meristem@anu.edu.au.
