Dear Colleagues

I am writing to inform you that the 2020 Australian Academy of Science Awards are now open and to invite you to nominate candidates or to consider forwarding this invitation to any relevant parties.

The closing date for nominations for honorific awards is 1 May 2019 and nominations/applications for research conferences, research awards and travelling fellowships are due by 1 June 2019.

For further information you can download the awards fact sheet. Information on eligibility criteria and nomination or application process is available on the website www.science.org.au/opportunities.

In the 2019 award round we recognised scientists’ discoveries cross the breadth of research from how oceanic circulation impacts the climate, to the use of tools that advance the understanding of the chemistry within cells and how the body’s immune defences combat infectious disease.

You can view their award videos here

Please do feel free to contact me if I can be of any assistance and thank you in advance for helping to support and promote excellence in science.

Yours sincerely,

Dominic Burton
