Science week was a very busy time for many of us as we engaged with schools and members of the public. Khu is a regular performer in this arena and visited Arawang school in Weston Creek to tell year one students about light. Diffraction grating glasses are always popular! (IMG 1280)

Science in ACTion is always a major event held at the Kingston Bus Depot market space. Over 5,000 visitors attended the event on Friday and Saturday, including 1,000 primary school students on the first morning. It was a considerable challenge and we have to thank Nathan, Mitchell, Aqeel, Ethan and Paul and Neil from the DQS workshop. The MAGLEV train was a great hit along with voices on the oscilloscope and the quick guide to kidnapping and demanding a ransom. Science week was marked in Smiths Alternative by the opening of “Physics on the Wall” on Monday evening. This was a project that took a long time to come to fruition but was well worth the effort. AIP support is gratefully acknowledged along with David, Neil and Mitchell. (Photo: Andrew Papworth in front of the display on opening night).
