Promoting your research and your career in the Digital Age: Social media 101

Social media is changing the way we communicate at a speed that can seem overwhelming, but offers huge opportunities for networking and building a profile for your research and can help your career.

This training session will explain what the fuss is all about and go through the advantages and disadvantages of Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn and cover the University, College and RSPE accounts on these platforms.

To finish, there will be a practical session where we help you set up accounts and get started – bring your laptop, smart phone or tablet.

All welcome to attend, from students through to profs.

RSVP for catering purposes to Phil.Dooley@anu.edu.au by 5pm Monday 21 November.

Trainers: Shannon Notley (Applied Maths), Jodie Bradby (EME), Phil Dooley (RSPE communications), Aaron Walker (ANU Media office)
