The 2023 WISE School will run as a 5 day online event. A select number of students will be invited to visit ANSTO’s Lucas Heights campus for the final 2 days of the program (Thursday 3rd – Friday 4th December), which will run as a simultaneous hybrid online and face-to-face event. Students will be able to indicate their preferred mode of attendance in the application form (either 5 days online, or 3 days online + 2 days in-person).

Application process
The 2023 WISE application process will follow a similar process to 2022. To aid in the nomination process, all students are required to write a short letter to their member representative before submitting their EOIs to AINSE. The 2023 WISE application process will operate as follows:

  1. An online application form will be hosted on the AINSE WISE website (form linked here). Students will submit completed forms directly to AINSE by email, with a common fixed deadline of 30th September for applications.
  2. The online application form will require students to declare that they have submitted to the member representative a brief letter, of no more than 500 words, outlining why they would be a good candidate to participate in the WISE School and mentorship program, and what they hope to gain through your participation in the program.
  3. Throughout the application period, AINSE will collect and collate student applications. Regular updates will be provided to individual member representatives regarding the number of applications currently received from their institution.
  4. After the application deadline on 30th September, vetting and final assessment of nominees will still be undertaken by individual member representatives. AINSE will distribute the application forms after the application deadline and request final nominations from member representatives within two weeks.
