2023 ACT Emerging Scientist Of The Year Award - Nominations Now Open

Dr Benjamin Schwessinger, the 2022 ACT Emerging Scientist of the Year, was acknowledged for his research which investigates the intersection of pathogen genomics and biosecurity. His work aims to enhance our understanding of the biology of plant pathogens that pose risks to Australian agriculture and the environment.

Reflecting on the award, Dr Schwessinger said “I was exhilarated to receive this award because it recognises my desire to do cutting edge research with local and global impact for the common good.”

Nominating for the ACT Emerging Scientist of the Year Award is easy.
Applicants need to respond to five short selection criteria, provide two referee reports, and prepare a short video outlining their research or innovation.
