Performance and Development Supervisor Modules

The University is offering four performance and development modules in the coming months.

With the exception of the ‘Coaching for Excellence Masterclass’ all courses can be booked via HORUS and they will also appear on the University’sperform and develop’ webpagePlease let your supervisors know that these are available to them in terms of their ongoing development.

Course summaries as below (refer weblinks for full document):

1) Essentials of Successful Performance Management

This workshop offers practical performance management training, for both Academic (level D and above) and Professional Supervisors (level ANU 8 and above), to effectively manage staff performance and promote engagement in the workplace through understanding the legal framework and key stages of performance management in the EA.

2) Effective Performance Conversations

For senior academic leaders (level D and above) and Professional Supervisors (level ANU 8 and above), this full day workshop will focus on developing the skills and confidence to hold effective performance conversations as well as providing the opportunity to identify the leadership behaviours which foster a culture of excellence as well as effective management approaches where underperformance exists.  

There will be a charge of $360 to attend this session.

·       16 November 2016                  9.30am to 4.30pm

3) Academic Performance and Development: Strategies For Managing Performance And Very Difficult Workplace Behaviour

For senior academic leaders (level D and above), this workshop provides real-world frameworks and practical tools for planning and managing ‘performance coaching’ conversations; with a particular focus on managing very difficult behaviour and how academic leaders and their HR teams can best manage and support these processes.

There will be no charge for attending this session.

4) Academic Performance and Development: ‘Coaching for Excellence Masterclass

This course is designed for Deans, Research School Directors, and Heads of Schools who want to manage and lead their teams through change, as well as drive high performance in an evolving environment.  This workshop provides real-world frameworks and practical tools for leadership coaching; with a particular focus on changing University contexts, workplace conversations,  cultures and role tension plus practice and application of coaching which supervisors can cascade to their direct reports. 

There will be no charge for attending this session.
