1. AINSE Early Career Researcher Grants (ECRG) – applications closing soon (applications close 31 July 2022)

The Early Career Researcher Grant (ECRG) is offered by AINSE Limited (the Australian Institute of Nuclear Science and Engineering) to suitably-qualified persons holding a postdoctoral position at an AINSE Member Institution and/or Organisation and wishing to undertake work in collaboration with ANSTO. Applications will be received up to 11:59pm AEST 31st July 2022.

The AINSE ECRG is a one-time payment offered to scholars who are in the first five years of employment as an Early Career Researcher, with allowances made for career breaks of a reasonable time frame. The recipient must be listed on an approved proposal to commence work at an ANSTO facility between 1st October 2022 and 31st December 2023.

The award provides a grant of up to A$10,000 excl. GST that can be spent on travel, accommodation, publication fees, and laboratory consumables relating to the recipient’s approved ANSTO proposal, in addition to carer requirements, including costs relating to childcare, respite, and support of dependents, subject to AINSE discretion.

2. AINSE Scholar Gold Medals (nominations received until 31 August 2022)

The AINSE Scholar Gold Medal is awarded for impact and excellence in research on the basis of publica.ons that acknowledge AINSE support. At the presentation of the medals, the newly-awarded Gold Medallists are invited to deliver an address on their research.

To nominate an early career researcher or postgraduate student for a Scholar Gold Medal, please complete the nomination form (available online) and return via email to enquiries@ainse.edu.au prior to the close of nominations at 11:59 pm AEST Wednesday 31st August 2022.

3. ANBUG-AINSE Neutron Scattering Symposium (AANSS) 2022: Save the date (9-11 November 2022)

4. ANSTO User Meeting 2022 (1-2 December 2022): Call for abstracts (submissions close 21st August 2022)
