Enhance your teaching experience and explore the importance of the Human Face of Teaching during this time of education transformation.

Adapting to and from remote teaching over the last two years has highlighted the importance of human interaction in education. What did we miss the most? As we return, are we treating this precious face-to-face time any differently? Have student needs changed? You are invited to join with our keynote speaker Professor Chris Tisdell and others to discuss and further explore the many aspects of the Human Face of Teaching.

Chris Tisdell describes himself as a teacher at heart, with education as his vocation: “a voice, calling from within me since I was you my mind, education forms a place where my personal passion intersects with the world’s deep needs. I am currently Professor of Mathematics and Mathematics Education at UNSW, and have held various academic roles over the past 20 years including Associate Dean, Director of L&T, and Honorary Professor. I am probably best known for leading Australia’s earliest YouTube channel dedicated to learning mathematics, now in its fourteenth year of operation.”

Following Chris’s keynote, we will have a series of short presentations from contributors who have been working on various aspects of engagement, sense of community and enhancement in teaching and learning delivery and support. We will follow up with a Discussion Forum, presented by a panel of expert representatives who have diverse roles contributing to the student experience of learning at ANU. After lunch, we are offering a choice of workshops designed to provide practical hands-on experience and active application, so please bring along your e-device of choice.
