Learning From Industry: NASA

Industry-focussed learning is critical to helping students build the skill sets employers need in the global space industry. NASA's Badri Younes, an engineer and Deputy Associate Administrator for Space Communications and Navigation (SCaN) and SCaN Program Manager, will talk about his engineering experience and how he is leading the next-generation of communication to enable the future of space.

Mr Younes is responsible for NASA’s space communications and navigation infrastructure and services, as well as space data standards and spectrum policy. He oversees NASA’s three space communications networks, including the Deep Space Network (DSN) which has a station near Canberra which is used for tracking and communicating with NASA's spacecraft.

Mr. Younes’ experience spans over thirty-three years of leadership in microwave and radiofrequency systems engineering and technology. He holds a Masters in Electronics Engineering from Catholic University of America and has completed all PhD requirements except for his dissertation.

This event is open to all students at the ANU and face masks are mandatory.
