Shaping the Future of Biomedical Imaging

Professor Kishan Dholakia
University of St Andrews, Scotland

Prof. Kishan Dholakia will give an overview of his group's work, including trapping, beam shaping and metrology. He will then focus on methods for shaping light to improve field of view and depth penetration for biomedicine. This will include the use of propagation invariant beams, multiphoton approaches and the use of deep learning.

Prof. Kishan Dholakia is at the University of St Andrews, Scotland. He has hundreds of refereed papers including over twenty in Nature and Science titled journals. He has an h-index of 89 (Google Scholar). His work in manipulation is cited in the Guinness Book of World Records. He is the recipient of the R.W. Wood Prize of the Optical Society (2016), the Institute of Physics Thomas Young Medal and Prize (2017) and the SPIE Dennis Gabor Award (2018).

He runs a vibrant, international group exploring advanced optical beam shaping for biomedicine and analysis, precision measurementand optical manipulation.
