Anomalies often occur in the physical world. Sometimes quite unexpectedly anomalies may give rise to new insight to an unrecognisedphenomenon. In this talk I shall discuss about Kohn anomaly in a conventional phonon-driven superconductor by using a microscopic approach. The equality of Kohn frequency (at which the anomaly takes place) with twice the pair binding energy cannot be accidental. Our analysis provides a nearly complete explanation to this new experimental observation (http://iopscience.iop.org/0953-8984/labtalk-article/52695).
