COS/CHM Gender Inclusive Teaching Workshop

You are warmly invited to attend the ANU COS/CHM Gender Inclusive Teaching Workshop, which will be run on Thursday, 3 December.

The workshop is delivered through the “Every Voice” project – a campus-wide initiative funded by the ANU Gender Institute and the Centre for Learning and Teaching. The purpose of the workshop and the “Every Voice” project is to explore the unexpected ways gender can impact student experience, learning, and academic performance.

How do we help students feel like they belong and why is that the responsibility of an educator? How does the design of routine activities and assessments favour some students and prevent others from participating and flourishing? How do we manage the biases and nuanced beliefs that students bring to the classroom? How can I prepare my students to be champions of inclusivity in their studies and careers?

We will be asking these questions and more throughout the workshop, seeking inspiration from COS/CHM educators who are doing innovative work in this space, and working together to develop practical and immediately actionable strategies for creating respectful and inclusive learning environments.

We want this workshop to reflect the needs and interests of the Colleges, so please complete this short survey and let us know what topics you think we should explore on the day.
