Thursday, 13 September was R U OK? Day. This is a fantastic reminder to check our own mental health and the wellbeing of others. Mental health is a positive concept related to the social and emotional wellbeing of individuals and communities.

Do you want to support a colleague, friend or family member? You can help to start meaningful conversations every day. Check in with someone, particularly if you’ve noticed a change in behaviour or mood. You could change a life by:

  1. Asking R U OK?
  2. Listening
  3. Encouraging action; and,
  4. Checking in

It’s so easy to take our mental health for granted; to prioritise other things; to put it off until next week. To create dialogue and reduce the stigma toward mental health, you could complete a ‘Make a Promise’ card. For inspiration on making a promise click here.
