Symposium The Symposium aims to provide a forum for experts from across the nation, and beyond, to build cross-institutional and interdisciplinary links in research areas exploiting the capabilities of heavy-ion accelerators and their associated state-of-the-art instrumentation. The program will include overview presentations for a wide audience, and contributed talks.

It will focus on:

The aim is to have as many submissions as possible in oral format and we encourage submissions from students and early career researchers. Abstract submission templates are available on the conference website.

Student Support Students of AINSE member institutions will be eligible for a small subsidy to assist with travel costs, dependent on the actual costs.

The number of student places is not unlimited and student support will be allocated in order of receipt of an abstract. Please contact the conference secretary to arrange ANISE’s subsidisation.

Carer Support Grants A limited number of carer assistance grants of up to AUD$350 are available for the three days of HIAS 2018 to assist with caring responsibilities while the parent is attending the HIAS 2018 conference and related events. Reimbursements can only be made on production of receipts or tax invoice.

If you wish to apply for the carer support, please send your request with a brief justification to the conference secretary at hias@physics.anu.edu.au.  The decision on awarding of the grants will be made by the local organising committee, depending on need, on a case by case basis.
