Mailroom Services

Dear Colleagues,

The purpose of this email is to advise you of changes to the University’s mail and courier services.

DHL, as the University’s current contracted mailroom provider, will no longer provide mailroom services to the University at the end of the initial term of their contract (close of business on 24th July 2018). I am pleased to announce that Australia Post has been selected as the University’s Preferred Supplier for the provision of Mailroom Services and will commence delivery on 25th July 2018.

DHL will continue to provide the University with domestic and international courier services (under a modified arrangement) on an interim basis.  Courier items will need to be lodged with DHL by calling 13 14 06 and quoting the University’s account number (966016965 for outbound shipments).  Courier items should not be left at the mail drop off/pick up.  The University’s domestic courier services will be transitioned to Australia Post, however, this will be rolled out at a later date as a staged implementation.  Further advice will be issued on this arrangement.

DB Schenker remains the University’s preferred provider for specialised courier services including customs and freight forwarding services.

The transition has been designed to be seamless to University personnel, with mail being collected from and delivered to the current mail points at the same time.  I would like to assure you that the team from the University Procurement and Contracts Office (UPCO) are working closely with both DHL and Australia Post to ensure a smooth and seamless transition for University personnel however, despite best efforts, are conscious that this is a significant transition and anticipate some unforeseen issues to emerge.  If you experience any issues please contact contracts.office@anu.edu.au.

Further, more detailed advice, is available from the mail and courier services website at https://services.anu.edu.au/financial-management/procurement-contracts/mail-courier-and-customs-clearance-and-freight-forwarding.  This site will be updated on a regular basis regarding the status of the transition.

For more information on this arrangement, not available on the website, please contact UPCO directly via email at contracts.office@anu.edu.au.

It would be appreciated if you could disseminate this information, as required, through your school/college/division.

Kind Regards,

Kellie Jess
