Vladimir Bazhanov (TP)
Ken Baldwin (LPC)

LIEF – none

Please congratulate the successful applicants with me.

We all appreciate how precious these awards are. Ken Baldwin and Vince Craig are currently discussing refinements to our peer-review grants for next year.  Please stay tuned to take advantage of this, especially given the closing date for 2019 DPs is ONE MONTH EARLIER.

This week’s pic comes fresh from Em/Prof Hans Bachor in Germany this week. Alumna of Department of Applied Mathematics , Myfanwy Evans  http://page.math.tu-berlin.de/~evans/, won on Tuesday night the Berlin Nachwuchspreis (early career) Wissenschaftspreis, for her work in geometry and soft matter physics. Myf is in the centre, on her right the president of the European Research Council and on her left the Mayor of Berlin.

I hope you have a restful weekend,

Tim
