Focus
Industry or external engagement and career development for HDR candidates are inextricably related. With around half of our PhD graduates going on to careers outside academia, we want to ensure they are in the best position to contribute their specialist skills, knowledge and capabilities. In this workshop I will discuss two of the major engagement pathways for HDR candidates, research internships and Industry PhDs, explain the administrative process for both, outline ANU supports and offer pointers on how HDR candidates and supervisors can get started. At the end of the session we will also have time for Q&A.

Lead
Dr Ulrike Proske is the HDR Industry Engagement Consultant in the Office of the Dean (HDR) at the ANU. She is coordinating HDR research internships across all ANU Colleges, managing applications to the National Industry PhD Program and is supporting HDR candidates, academic supervisors and professional staff who are engaging with industry.
