ANU-CSIRO Collaboration Grant in Agri-Food

Briefly:

• The ANU-CSIRO Agri-Food Collaboration Program will enable world-class researchers from each institution to work together on industry-aligned projects that address complex issues that can’t be solved using business as usual approaches.  
• Expressions of interest are sought for collaborative, interdisciplinary project proposals focused on improving the sustainability, productivity and profitability of agriculture and food systems.  
• Teams need to comprise world-class researchers from both the ANU and CSIRO.  Where needed, the Centre for Entrepreneurial Agri-Technology (CEAT) will help identify possible co-applicants at ANU/CSIRO.  
• One outstanding project will be awarded three years’ funding for two Level B Post-Doctoral Fellows (one each at ANU and CSIRO) plus project costs.  
• The total value of the initiative will be more than $1 million.  Support from industry and business development experts will also be provided.
• Governance will be provided by representatives of ANU and CSIRO. 
• Eligible EoIs will be supported by CEAT and the Canberra Innovation Network (CBRIN) towards application readiness. 
• CEAT will also support unsuccessful applicants to identify and apply for other funding streams.

• Expressions of interest close: 21 June
• Pre-application workshop: 7 July
• Applications close: 1 August
• Notification of Award: 19 August

Note: to be eligible, ANU applicants will need the support of their School Director. For individual Schools, this will require a commitment of 25% to the cost of the ANU part of the project (Level B post doc over 3 years plus $45K per year consumables; total value $190k/year for 3 years, with 25% covered by the School, 25% by the Dean and 50% by the DVCR) that is ultimately chosen by the selection committee.
