Entanglement: Einstein's Gift to Quantum Mechanics
Audience

Duncan M. Haldane is Eugene Higgins Professor of Physics at Princeton University, and Distinguished Visiting Research Chair at Perimeter Institute for Theoretical Physics. He received the 2016 Nobel Prize in Physics with David J. Thouless and J. Michael Kosterlitz "for theoretical discoveries of topological phase transitions and topological phases of matter." Prof. Haldane works on matter in different phases—gas, liquid, or solid-- including unusual "quantum" matter. His Nobel Prize winning research is on even more unusual topological phases, which are predicted to contribute to development of novel materials and electronics technologies.
