Energy Conversations: Developments in community-based battery storage

Our experts will explore the exciting developments in community-based battery storage that are occuring in the ACT and beyond.

Dr Marnie Shaw and Dr Hedda Ransan-Cooper will be joined by panellists who work in different aspects of battery storage.

Chair: Professor Ken Baldwin, Director, ANU Energy Change Institute.

Attendees will be able to ask questions of our speakers via the online Q&A.

Dr Shaw is a Research Leader in the ANU Battery Storage and Grid Integration Program, and also Convenor of the Institute's Energy Efficiency research cluster.

Dr Ransan-Cooper is a Research Fellow in the Battery Storage and Grid Integration Program. She is a former project coordinator for the CONSORT project - an ARENA funded trial of renewable technology on Bruny Island, Tasmania.

Dr Ransan-Cooper is also a researcher in the Institute's Energy Regulation & Governance and Energy Sociology and Risk research clusters.

Our panellists are Heather Smith who is studying the social dimensions of community storage via microgrids in South Australia for her PhD at the University of Adelaide, and Rob Thorman, Program Manager Sustainability and Release Coordination, Suburban Land Agency, ACT Government.
