The ARC Australian Laureate Fellowship Scheme will open on 2 September 2020 and close on 28 October 2020. This scheme reflects the Australian Government’s commitment to excellence in research by supporting world-class researchers to conduct research in Australia. Up to 17 five-year Australian Laureate Fellowships may be awarded each year, providing a salary supplement, in addition to a Level E professorial salary provided by the Administering Organisation; funding for up to two Postdoctoral Research Associates (five years) and two Postgraduate Researchers (four years); and up to $300,000 per annum project funding. Preference is given to researchers who will play a significant, sustained leadership and mentoring role in building Australia's internationally competitive research capacity. With a national success rate of 11.4% in 2019, the Laureate Scheme is extremely competitive, and targets the highest-quality researchers.
A Zoom panel discussion and Q&A will be held on 23 July 2020, for any candidates interested in learning more about the scheme. The panel will include two ARC members and current Laureate Fellows, who will discuss key attributes for preferred candidates and the essential components for successful applications. Please register by emailing preaward.rsd@anu.edu.au.
Last year, the Australian Research Council (ARC) implemented a number of changes to streamline National Competitive Grants Program (NCGP) application forms based on feedback received about previous years’ forms and through consultation.
Following the implementation of a number of scheme application forms with the new changes incorporated, the ARC would now like to seek feedback on these changes via the following survey. Part of the streamlining introduced greater consistency across scheme application forms (where applicable). Therefore, the survey is based on the Discovery Projects application form as a template with the opportunity to provide feedback or further suggestions for this or any other scheme application form.
The SurveyMonkey survey will be opened until 5.00pm Thursday, 24 July 2020 and we wish to advise that you can disseminate this survey to your researchers and peer reviewers for feedback in addition to Research Office staff.
Please note: The platform for this survey (SurveyMonkey) has a scheduled outage on Saturday, 4 July, from 1.00am (AEST) for approximately 12 hours.
The survey can be accessed by following this link - https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/SJB6Y3M
The ARC will be holding an ITRP webinar via Zoom on Thursday, 16 July 2020 from 11.00am to 12.30pm, which will replace the ARC’s usual ITRP Forum this year. The webinar will provide an opportunity for potential applicants to hear from key ARC and Department of Industry staff about the schemes, as well as answer questions during a short Q&A session.
To register, please complete the Survey Monkey Registration Form by 5pm Monday, 6 July 2020.
