3 Minute Thesis Competition

This competition will be going ahead this year, and ANU has made the decision to move the 2020 Three Minute Thesis Competition to a virtual format (video submission) in the best interests of public health. There will be no College 3MT final this year but students who are interested in presenting should submit their expression of interest for the ANU final of 3MT. For more information on 3MT, including training please visit HERE.

Researcher Training

Researcher Development team and Academic Skills and Learning Centre offer a variety of courses and workshops to assist HDR students.

There is a wealth of information at HDR-Communities-Training and we encourage students and supervisors to check these offerings. The recent HDR Update from Prof Ann Evan, Dean HDR has information on upcoming courses and workshops in June and July.

HDR Working Party

HDR Working party will have its first meeting on 26 June and welcomes any ideas from staff and students. If you would like to suggest a discussion item, please email hdr.physics@anu.edu.au or Prof Lan Fu directly (lan.fu@anu.edu.au).

COVID-19 extension scholarship eligibility

This scholarship is available to students who are approaching 3.5 years of their stipend scholarship and are in receipt of an ANU funded scholarship and their research has been severely affected by the recent crisis – please see HERE for further details.

Below are some scenarios which will help understand when students can apply for this scholarship:

Safe Corridor Pilot

You may have seen information in the media about a repatriation pilot for international students wanting to return to Canberra.

We have received the following information from the Dean HDR. As far as we aware this has been approved by the ACT Government but not the Commonwealth yet.

Eligible students will be contacted directly by the area of the university who are responsible for administering the pilot.

Please note this advice may change.
