ANU Vice-Chancellor's College Visiting Artists Exhibition 2018

The ANU Vice-Chancellor's College Visiting Artists Fellowship Scheme promotes collaborative research between disciplines by placing visiting artist fellows in each of the ANU Colleges for an academic year.

In 2017, three artists were engaged in collaborations with RSPE academics. Ms Susan Buret explored the issue of how patterns that underlie the structure of natural objects can be expressed in painting and textiles. Dr Alexandra Gillespie worked on 3D branching structures related to corals to develop sculptural and print artforms. Both these artists worked with Dr Vanessa Robins (App. Maths). Dr Ella Whateley investigated how to produce artforms which would produce an effect on the viewer’s experience of time. She collaborated with Dr Peter Riggs (DQS).

The intriguing artworks that have resulted from these and other collaborations within the ANU will be displayed at the ANU School of Art and Design Gallery from Friday 22 June to Friday 13 July 2018. The exhibition is open to the public.
