EARN an ANU Postgraduate Award and improve your skills in communicating your science.

The Australian National Centre for the Public Awareness of Science (CPAS) will be holding two short workshops for PhD students of the Colleges of Science.

CPAS workshops are held over two and a half days.  They cover topics such as conference presentations, speaking to a variety of audiences, writing in plain English for a variety of audiences, understanding the public, and so on.

On completion of the workshop you will be entitled to a Certificate qualifying you for the formal ANU Graduate Short Course Award in Science Communication.

The workshops are highly interactive – you will be expected to participate throughout the sessions.

All PhD students in the Science Colleges are encouraged to attend these workshops and we are delighted to tell you that the Deputy Dean (Education) is generously covering your fee.  You are urged to take this opportunity to improve your presentation skills:  these workshops are in high demand from external scientific organisations where such expertise is valued by prospective employers.  Past students have returned highly positive evaluations.

Your time commitment will be no more than a short conference.

The workshop will be held on the following dates:

1.       23 to 25 October 2017
2.       27 to 29 November 2017

You can register for the workshop by emailing cpas@anu.edu.au

Further information about the course can be found here.

Registration will be on a first come first served basis as numbers are restricted.

“Every student should attend these workshops…” (Previous participant)
