Residential Student Scholarships

Are you a first year PhD student from an AINSE member university?

Are you available to be onsite at an ANSTO facility (at Lucas Heights, Camperdown and/or Clayton) for 6 months or more per year?


NOW OPEN
$7,500 per year stipend and up to $5,000 for travel & accommodation allowance per year

Has your research been verified as meeting the strategic objectives of
ANSTO in the areas of:
• Human Health
• Environment
• Nuclear Fuel Cycle

Email a one page (only) abstract outlining:
• the details of the research
• ANSTO staff member involved the title of the email must say: ‘RSS Verification’

Expression of Interest
Students are eligible to submit an expression
of interest if they:
• hold an RTP or equivalent peer reviewed scholarship
• undertaking or about to commence ANSTO strategic research with a designated ANSTO supervisor


In addition, opportunities exist for postgraduate students interested in either:
• contracted research & industrial engagement projects in the defence industry area or
• fusion research that aligns with ANSTO & ITER activities

ANNUAL PACKAGE
$7,500 stipend per annum
Up to $5,000 travel and accommodation allowance per annum


Strategic PhD opportunities
Residential scholarships offered to students holding a RTP or equivalent and whose PhD project topic closely aligns with any of the strategic focus areas for ANSTO’s research programmes:

In addition, opportunities exist for postgraduate students interested in contracted research and industrial engagement projects in the defence industry area. Opportunities may also exist for postgraduate students interested in fusion research that aligns with ANSTO and ITER activities following the signing of the cooperation agreement.
