This is a friendly reminder to you and your students of some of our upcoming programs.
It is also an opportunity to introduce myself as the new administrator at Research Skills and Training.
If you have any feedback (or tips!) for our office, I encourage you to get in touch.

Attached are posters for the following events.

Thesis Boot Camp, 23-25 June

#ANUTBC has a proven track record of supporting candidates make significant progress on their thesis. This weekend intensive is aimed at candidates nearing their submission date. EOIs close on 1 June.

Get #SoMe - Social Media for Researchers course with the Thesis Whisperer

Get #SoMe is a very popular program. Last year our group trended number one in Australia above Pauline Hanson's maiden speech. Our graduates have moved on into paid work in social media and others have finished their PhD and have graduated. Course starts on Monday 7 August and continues for 8 weeks. EOIs close 14 July.

Shut Up and Write Days and Nights

PARSA and RST has funded Shut Up and Write on Campus since 2012. Generally a Shut Up & Write! Group will use the Pomodoro Technique, which involves writing in silence for 25 minute bursts with regular rests for coffee, food and chatting in between. Chatting is a good way to have a 'brain break' between intense periods of focus. Break time is good for problem solving, to discuss writing progress, or simply making friends. Writers work on their own tasks - there are no set exercises or group work. Read more about how Shut Up & Write! works on the Thesis Whisperer Blog.
ANU now has many Shut Up and Write sessions, including full days, evenings and coffee sessions, places are limited however all are welcome.
