ACADI Research Grants

The grants are offered to researchers from any field (e.g. science, engineering, economics, medicine/allied health) whose work aligns with ACADI’s three key priority areas:
- Diabetic kidney disease
- Peripheral neuropathy and diabetic foot syndrome
- Short-term complications of hypoglycaemia and/or hyperglycaemic hyperosmolar syndrome (HHS) and diabetic ketoacidosis (DKA).
PhD grants
- $31,200 for a 12-month period.
- Paid directly to the student to contribute to living expenses.
- Applicants must be placed at an ACADI core partner, and an Australian citizen or permanent resident.
- Submissions close 12pm Monday 14th August.
ECR grants
- $40,000 for a 12-month period.
- The grant will contribute directly to the specified research activity.
- Submissions close 12pm Monday 14th August.
- Applicants must be placed at an ACADI core partner, and an Australian citizen or permanent resident.
- One grant is reserved for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander applicants.
Priority will be given to applications that include any of the following elements:
- Research projects that engage or involve people living with diabetes.
- Indigenous community involvement or demonstrable impact for Indigenous communities.
- Applicants that come from a non-medical background, such as allied health, science or engineering.
