Australia-Germany Joint Research Cooperation Scheme - 2023 Round
Published in the Research School of Physics Event Horizon
Vol48 Issue13 3–7 April 2023
As in previous years, please note that:
- The Scheme provides financial support for the travel and living expenses associated with collaborative research between Australia and Germany.
- A significant focus of the scheme is to develop the experience and capacity of early career researchers (ECRs). Projects that do not involve an ECR will not be considered for funding (refer to section 2 on the Terms and Condition document).
- All projects will need to submit two applications. One to the Australian university research office, and one submitted by the German collaborators directly to the DAAD. The German partner will need to begin their application to generate a project ID which is required for the Australian application.
- The maximum funding available per Australian application is AUD 12,500 per annum for up to two years (AUD 25,000 across 2024 and 2025).
There will be a pre-selection ranking process coordinated by Central Research Innovation Services (RIS). Only applications that score 80 or more out of 100 (section 6, Terms and conditions) in the internal pre-selection phase will be considered eligible for funding by the DAAD selection panel.
Due to ranking, your local Research Office is seeking notification of interest by 12 April 2023. Those that indicate their interest in applying will receive further information about the scheme including ranking and the College of Science timeline.
