Update from the Chief Operating Officer - our pathway towards a COVID-normal campus life

What we’re all working towards
Our main goal is to get ready for the start of semester one 2022, so that COVID-normal campus life delivers the best possible student and staff experience next year.

We’ll get to this point in a staged way based on careful planning and sound policy development.

What’s next
Before 29 October your College or Portfolio will decide if core activities should return to campus in this first stage - this will be guided by local business continuity arrangements.

We’ll also have advice on things like masks and how many people can be in a space, in line with ACT Government Health Directions.

We are also working on guidance around activities including events and travel, which we’ll share as soon as we can.

A phased and gradual transition

In summary, our journey to COVID-normal campus life in 2022 will be in stages:

  1. Before 29 October: no change
  2. After 29 October: core activities that can’t be undertaken remotely may return to campus within ACT Public Health Guidelines
  3. After the summer break: COVID normal campus life begins and we return (hopefully) refreshed and ready for an exciting and rewarding year.
