The School is saddened to hear that Dr David Weisser passed away this morning.

During his long association with ANU as Accelerator Manager in the Department of Nuclear Physics, David played an enormous role in developing the 14UD and Linac accelerators, as well as beamline instrumentation that we rely on today.  He was greatly respected around the world, and was in demand as a consultant for overseas accelerator laboratories.

David’s confidence and outstanding capabilities, has been an inspiration to the School, and will continue to guide the ethos of the Department.

David’s funeral will be held at Norwood Park Crematorium, Canberra, Monday, July 27th at 1:30 pm. The family asks that a donation be made to Clare Holland house, rather than bringing flowers.

Our thoughts and prayers are with his family.
