Director's Message

Dear Colleagues,

Last week saw two excellent interviews with researchers from RSPhys. Above, Ash Pascale, a PhD student in Materials Physics discussed her inspiring path into science in a piece for National Science Week. Next,  Dr Zuzana Slavkovska (NPAA) was interviewed for her exciting role in the ARC Centre for Dark Matter and the launch of the Stawell Underground Physics Laboratory (SUPL) last Friday. Both are really excellent interviews. I was lucky enough to visit the lab, 1km underground and hold 14kg of freshly poured gold, straight from the mine (see below).

From all accounts Market Day was another huge success. My thanks to all those who stood by their posters and met prospective students. Thanks also to the Market Day Master Mind, A/Prof Cormac Corr (DMP). Below are some great photos of the day.

Have a good week,
Tim
