Director's Message

Dear Colleagues,

I hope you had a relaxing four-day break.

My thanks and appreciation to the “Easter bunny” who dropped off traditional hot cross buns last Thursday (above).

Hon/Prof Richard Henley (DMP) will be giving his Haddon Forrester King lecture at the Academy on 18th April.  All are very welcome, details below.

It was a pleasure to see Em/Prof Ken Baldwin (QST) present to industry representatives, ACT and Federal government officials at the AECOM Climate Breakfast (below).  Ken excelled in capturing the audience with sobering statistics and refreshing solutions.

Finally, I draw your attention to the Australian Science Policy Fellowship scheme, detailed in the right-hand column.  Dr Ed Simpson (NPAA) greatly enjoyed his fellowship and I know would recommend it for bringing new perspectives on the machinery of government, as well as underscoring the vital role technical experts play in setting policies.

Best,

Tim
