Director's Message

Dear Colleagues,

As campus life begins to return to normal, preparations for the ANU Graduation Celebrations are well underway. If you would like to take part in any of the events, please register by Wednesday, 21st January using the link provided. These celebrations are a wonderful opportunity for academic staff to celebrate our students’ achievements together with them.

A reminder to please continue sending your recent publications to your Head of Department to share the exciting research happening here. I enjoy hearing about the diverse projects going on in the School, and I am continually impressed by the breadth of physics undertaken in our community.

Next week on the 28th, ARC DECRA applications will open. Given the proposed restructure of the National Competitive Grants Program, this may be the last round for these Fellowships. If you are intending to apply and you haven’t already done so, please let the Research Office know so they can allocate sufficient resources for supporting all applications and keep you up to date with the relevant information.

Wishing you all a relaxing and enjoyable long weekend ahead.

Patrick
(Acting Director)

Josef Richmond (NPAA) for being awarded a 2026 Forrest Fellowship on the topic of plasma devices for space exploration applications.
