Acting Director's Message

Dear Colleagues,

The National Youth Science Forum Program has just finished. Thanks to those who have helped making this year’s edition a success.

The Major Equipment Grant applications closes today. Good luck to those who have applied! 

Once again, please don’t forget the RSPE and CoS peer review deadline of January 30th for the ARC Discovery and DECRA rounds coming up. This peer review process can strongly strengthen your proposals.

The above picture shows the participants to the 25th Canberra International Physics Summer School – “The Invisible Universe”. After a first week dedicated to Dark Matter and Neutrino Physics, the School now focuses on Gravitational Waves and Dark Energy (see below). 

Don’t forget the Physics in the Pub Tuesday (see below) organised as a satellite event to the Summer School, and open to everyone.

The ARC has released the Grant Guidelines and key dates for Linkage Infrastructure, Equipment and Facilities (LIEF) 2020 (LE20).

Research Contracts New Process

In 2018, the Science based research contracts team transitioned to a university-based research contracts team. To ensure consistency across the Colleges, ‘in-principle’ school approval will be required to commence the review of research contracts (non- ARC/NHRMC agreements) and to proceed with negotiation on behalf of the university.

Uyen Nguyen is acting Senior School Administrator 14-31 Jan 2019.

 

RSPE Orientation

Every Monday at 10:00am all new starters are invited to meet at reception to have a short tour of the School’s central areas and receive a welcome pack.

Bookings are not required.
