Director's Message
Dear Colleagues,
Many thanks for an outstandingly entertaining Founder’s Day. I’m very grateful to the presenters, and all the many and various contributors over the past few months leading up to the day. Next year is going the biggest yet as we celebrate our 70th anniversary.
It’s going to be another big week for many of us with the School Review kicking off on Tuesday for 3 days. In advance, a heartfelt thank you to all those presenting to the review panel. It’s a chance to speak strongly about where you feel we need to go as an individual. Principally, don’t forget to build on the strength of your own stellar research and teaching. The Self-Assessment report could not present the enthusiasm you feel for your work, and in the ways illustrated so positively as we saw in Founder’s Day last week. Take every opportunity to spell out your aspirations that might lead RSPE into the top 25 physics schools in the world. A review is one of those great opportunities the University gives us to identify and build on our strengths.
All the best to the Honours students, deep in the final stages of a very busy year.
Have a great week,
Tim |
