Director's Message

Dear Colleagues,

I hope you all had a great weekend.

Heartfelt congratulations go to Dr Nian (Jenny) Jiang (far left in pic) on being awarded the highest PhD award at the ANU, the JG Crawford Prize for her 2016 EME thesis on the Growth and Characterisation of GaAs/AlGaAs heterostructure nanowires in optoelectronic device applications. The prize, now in its 45th year, is awarded annually to the top thesis, one in the sciences and one in the humanities.  It is an outstanding achievement, please congratulate Jenny when you see her next in the College Research Office.

There’s a lot happening in the next few weeks, please take a second or two to scan down the events below.  Some of the important activities are focussed around the one year anniversary of the Australian Human Rights Commission survey into sexual assault and harassment at universities.  Please follow the link on Respectful relationships to see how ANU communities are supporting initiatives to make this a safe and inclusive university for all.

Please don’t forget to change your password well before 31st July or you will be locked out of your account. To do this just visit https://identity.anu.edu.au, sign in with your current password, navigate to “My Information” and navigate to the “Change Password” section.

Cheers,

Tim
