Available student project - Bacteria turbulence: diffusion and self-organizaiton
Research fields
- Biophysics
- Physics of Fluids
Project details
The project involves work in several interdisciplinary directions:
(1) Culture of E.Coli or B. Subtilis bacteria in collaboration with JCSMR
(2) Micro-fabrication of microchannels for generating bacteria flow at various concentration
(3) Using particle image velocimetry and/or particle tracking velocimetry to investigate the bacterial flow properties.
Required background
Background in physics with fluid mechanics or statistical physics. Experience with microfluidics, micro-fabrication is advantageous.
