ANU staff, students and visitors have an email address created based on their University ID. This email address is in the form of firstname.lastname@example.org and should be created as soon as you are activated in the HR system. If you do not have the password for University ID, please visit the SCU to reset it.
ANU staff and HDR students can also have an ANU email alias created for them. These are usually in the form of email@example.com For people in RSPE these aliases are created by request by the SCU.
ANU has chosen the outsourced Microsoft Office365 product as the University's email provider.

Leaving the ANU
As soon as your are deactivated in the ANU HR system your University ID will stop functioning, and you will no longer have access to your email account and any emails sent to your ANU email address will bounce.
Your old emails will be retained for 30 days after your departure. If your account is re-instated after the 30 day period your email account will be blank.
If you want a copy of all of your ANU emails (in PST format) please contact us before your departure date.
Functional accounts are created for a role, instead of a person. Access can be controlled through the use of security groups. You can check the current functional account security group memberships.
RSPE has a number of email lists, many of which are automatically created from the school people database. Information on these lists in available on the RSPE Intranet.
