Space technology
Metrology missions in space present a plethora of new opportunities that go beyond ground-based experiments, such as long distance measurements over many millions of kilometres, and isolation from anthropogenic and seismic disturbances. However, these missions also present a range of new challenges and conditions that need research and development. These challenges include remoteness and control, robustness of equipment and electric power consumption criteria, solar heating and thermal expansion of materials.
