Biography

I hold an MSc in geology with 10 years experience in research, teaching, O&G, and mining. I completed my masters degree in South Africa and continued my professional career in Australia and USA, working on O&G reservoir characterization, stratigraphic analysis, petrography and applied mineralogy.

Currently I am a PhD researcher at ANU, investigating new methods to estimate fluid flow properties in CT images of core samples where numerical computation is not possible because of limitations in image resolution.

I have worked in commercial services and applied research in cooperation with world class organizations, including Maersk Oil Qatar, Halliburton, OilSearch, The Australian National University, SGS, Colorado School of Mines, and NASA.

Research interests

Geological description and analysis of aquifer and reservoir systems

The relationship between geological and petrophysical properties

Well logging and its relationship to geological rock properties (mineralogy, and grain and pore textures)

Subsurface modeling and simulation
