Physics Laboratory Workshop with BIT - CANCELLED

Due to the current coronavirus outbreak, the upcoming February Physics Laboratory Workshop, in collaboration with Beijing Institute of Technology (BIT), has been cancelled/postponed.  There were altogether 40 registered attendees with 2 accompanying academics.  In consultation with BIT, we are currently looking at options to run it later in the year, possibly during the ANU Winter Break.  There may be some logistical and personnel challenges as there is also a Photonics Masterclass planned for July.

We would like to apologise for the inconvenience caused to tutors and staff who had set aside time to contribute to this workshop.

We will continue to monitor and manage how the disease will affect our other major education engagements with our Chinese partners.

This has doubtlessly been an extraordinarily challenging start to 2020 on several fronts.  Please spare a thought, reach out with kindness and support our students and colleagues who have connections with China, especially in Wuhan, or who might be impacted in anyway by the epidemic."

Cheers,

Jong
